Care is the cornerstone of our practice
One to one personalised training sessions & fitness programmes performing exercises, using programs / tailored plans
A personal trainer (PT) is a certified individual who provides one to one personalised training sessions and fitness programmes for their clients. The aim of a personal trainer is to motivate and guide their clients to achieve their goals, whilst correctly and safely performing exercises, using programs/ tailored plans.
They will also help you identify your goals and help you work towards them. A PT will keep you accountable to your fitness goals and motivate you to push yourself further.
Fitness test Do not be put off by this (you won't be asked to run a mile in under a minute). This is a range of basic movement, cardio and lifts to determine your current fitness as every client is different and this gives your PT a baseline to start from.
Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. If possible, something breathable and layers (gyms tend to be on the cooler side). Supportive footwear, preferably trainers with good trip.
On average a PT session will last 60 minutes, this will give you enough time to effectively warm up and cool down around the main bulk of the session. However, speak to your PT as other options may be available.
This may or may not be on your first session or ever, however worth mentioning.
To get a better understanding of your current health and fitness your personal trainer may want to conduct a health check. This will consist of basic measurements (circumference of the arms, legs and torso area). A body fat measurement, using callipers the PT will pinch your skin (painless) and get a reading of mm per area.
