What is sports therapy?

Sports therapy is a small part of healthcare that specifically focuses on the prevention and rehabilitation on musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunction. The main aim of sports therapy is to rehabilitate patients back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sport specific fitness. Sports therapy uses a variety manual and exercise therapy to treat injuries. At Evolve Injury Clinic we are passionate about all aspects of rehabilitation. Therefore, we combine, physiological, pathological and psychological aspects of injuries. During your first appointment you will undergo an initial consultation which will involve a detailed examination and assessment to establish the root cause of the injury. From this consultation an appropriate and effective treatment plan with be devised.

Do I have to play sport to have a sports massage?

Despite the name, you do not have to play sport to have a sports massage. Sports massage aims to enhance performance, assists recovery and prevents injury, but these are benefits that we can all enjoy. Our everyday movements can put stress on our bodies, if this goes untreated over time it may lead to more long-term issues. Regular sports massage can help ease the stress we put on our bodies through our work and family life. Sports massage aims to relieve muscular tension, relax your mind, this can lead to improving the quality of life.

Is there a waiting list to book in?

We do not have a waiting list, and majority of the time we can book you in within the same week. However, we do highly recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Where can I park?

Evolve Injury Clinic doesn’t have a car park attached to it, however, due to its central location there are numerous free street parking spots surrounding the clinic. There is also the Erewash Borough Council Town Hall pay and display which is directly across the road from the clinic. After 6pm, the surrounding pay and display car parks are free.

How do I pay for my appointment/session?

We ask that you pay your therapist/trainer/instructor directly. This will be done on the day of your appointment. In general, we prefer card payment or bank transfer, however, discuss this personally with the person you are booked in with and a method that best suits you can be arranged.

What do I need to bring?

During your initial consultation with the Sports Therapist and Personal Trainers you will need to disclose past and current medical and surgical history. It would also be helpful if you could bring a list of medication to your initial appointment. This is to ensure that everything we do is safe for you. It will be beneficial if you bring comfy clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt. We also highly recommend you bring a water bottle

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the sports therapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

We recommend that you attend your appointment in comfortable clothing. Depending on the area of concern you may be asked to undress with this in mind please consider wearing modest underwear or bring a pair of shorts with you.

We prefer if you would bring your own mat to the classes, however if you forget your mat, we do have a limited number of spare mats.

The personal trainers at Evolve Injury clinic are highly skilled and are able to comprise programs and nutritional advice to suit your own individual goal. At Evolve injury clinic we do not follow a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Before your begin your personal training journey, you will be asked specific questions about your goals, whether this be to lose weight, gain weight, tone up, improve strength, improve speed, our personal trainers are here to help you along every step of your individual fitness journey.

Payments & Your Account

Evolve Injury clinic holds a membership with Easy Practice booking system. When you make a booking via our website you will be redirected to Easy Practice. Once redirected to Easy Practice you will be asked to create an account. Once you have created an account you will easily be able to login and see each therapist's availability and book an appointment at a time that suits you. If you would prefer to have a chat with a therapist prior to booking your appointment, please feel free to send us an email.

At Evolve injury clinic there is no need to pay up front for your appointment, you will be able to pay by cash or card on the day of your appointment. Please note that your individual therapist may prefer different payment methods, so it’s always best to double check before your appointment.
